Example of A One-Dimensional View Of Vulnerability

The above label from a drink [click on for a larger view]  illustrates why in terms of vulnerability we need to think in more than one dimension. The producers of the label write

Smaller Cap = Less Plastic

Did you notice this bottle has an Eco-Slim cap? This is part of our ongoing effort to reduce our impact on the environment. This bottle and cap contain an average of 20% less plastic than our original 500mL.”

Than they had a warning at the bottom

WARNING: Cap is a small part and poses a CHOKING HAZARD, particularly for children.

It seems, in my view, a larger cap but less plastic in the bottle itself would have been a better approach!
